The U.N. mission in Libya announced Monday it is withdrawing its staff "temporarily" because of sharply increased insecurity in the North African country. In a statement, the U.N. Support Mission in Libya said the withdrawal comes after the mission already has been reducing its staff in the country over the past week. It said the fighting Sunday and the closure of Tripoli International Airport prompted the mission to order a full withdrawal of its staff. Earlier Monday, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged political dialogue to limit violence and return Libya to its transition to democracy.
