Hundreds of people had to be evacuated from the Channel Tunnel linking Britain to the rest of Europe early Monday, after a train broke down on its way to France, dpa reported. Eurotunnel said the train stopped about 7 miles into the 30-mile tunnel due to a problem with an overhead power line and that 382 people and four dogs had been taken on to the French terminal. Delays would continue for the rest of the day, a spokesman said, warning that those who did not need to travel should postpone their journeys if possible.
