Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington are the four US cities in the race to host the 2024 Summer Olympics, the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) has said, according to dpa. "Boston, LA, San Francisco and Washington have each given us reason to believe they can deliver a compelling and successful bid, and we look forward to continuing to explore the possibilities as we consider 2024," USOC chief executive Scott Blackmun said on Friday. Dallas and San Diego will not be part of the bidding process, the committee added in a statement. The International Olympic Committee will accept bids for the games in 2015 and make a decision in 2017. The United States hosted the summer games in Atlanta in 1996. It hosted the winter games in Salt Lake City in 2002.
