Sharapova wins second French Open title

Maria Sharapova of Russia defeated Simona Halep 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4 on Saturday to win the French Open for the second time
in three years, dpa reported.
Shrapova, who also lifted the trophy at Roland Garros in 2012, was
playing in her third straight Paris final. She becomes the first
Russian (male or female) to win the same Grand Slam title twice.
The victory marked the 50th victory for Sharapova at the event as she
beat her Romanian opponent for the fourth time after defeating her
last month for the Madrid title.
