The Ministry of Health launched today a command and control centre which is a permanent unit for protection of the public and raise the degree of preparedness for any health challenges in the future. The center, which is affiliated to the ministry, is to carry out pre-emptive and fast measures against any future challenges relating to public health in the Kingdom such as Middle East respiratory syndrome corona virus (MERS-CoV) through coordination efforts and ongoing monitoring. It also includes doctors, scientists, researchers and experts of health care and emergency planning. The center is operated under the direct supervision of the Minister of Health in collaboration with international experts and organizations such as the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
