Germany on Monday launched two weeks of military exercises involving a total of 4,500 soldiers, around 1,000 of which are from 11 other countries including the United States, Turkey and Hungary. Some 100 aircraft and helicopters will take part in the drills taking place in northern Germany between Monday and May 23, dpa quoted the Defense Ministry as saying in an online statement. The goal of the major exercise named Jawtex - Joint Air Warfare Tactical Exercise - is the coordination of naval, air and land forces in air defense.
