Eastern Ukrainian Separatists Declare Independence of Luhansk

Pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine have declared the independence of Luhansk, one of two regions that held secession referendums on Sunday.
According to dpa, the separatists have justified the move by saying that 96.2 per cent of local citizens had voted in favour of secession.
