Jordan and the United States signed here today a deal under which the U.S. will provide loan guarantees to Jordanian government in sovereign debt bonds worth US$1 billion to be matured after five years. The deal is set to save the Jordan's treasury $200 million if it were to borrow the loan from the local market. The agreement was inked by Minister of Finance Ummaya Toukan and USAID Mission Director Beth Paige.
