Snap parliamentary and presidential elections began Sunday in Macedonia, and conservative Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski is expected to win, dpa reported. Gruevski and his VMRO party have been ruling the former Yugoslav republic since 2006. They are expected to win a fourth consecutive time, despite Macednoia's stalled progress toward EU and NATO membership. The VMRO candidate and incumbent Gorge Ivanov is also expected to win a run-off presidential vote.
