General index of wholesale prices for March 2014 increased by 0.9% , compared to its counterpart for 2013 due to changes being witnessed by the main sections constituting the wholesale prices index. In its monthly statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) said that the section of beverages and tobacco topped the sections that had risen to 6.9%, followed by the section of chemicals and related products 4.4%, section of food and live animals 1.6%, then the section of raw materials, with the exception of fuel by 0.9 % and the section of machinery and transport equipment rose 0.6 % . The CDSI also said that on the contrary, a number of sections constituting the general wholesale price index in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in last March topped by the section of other commodities, which fell by 12.4 %, section of miscellaneous manufactured goods by 0.4%, section of oils and animal and vegetable fats by 0.3 % and section of classified manufactured goods by a slight decline of 0.1%, while the section of mineral fuels and related products at the level of its previous index without any relative change. --More 11:41 LOCAL TIME 08:41 GMT تغريد
