The Cairo-based General Relief Committee of World Islamic Council for Call and Relief has appealed to all its members of humanitarian organizations to hasten to save millions of people in some of areas in the Republic of Sudan because of civil wars, ethnic conflicts, and drought, especially most of the affected people outnumbering 7 million are living in a very tough atmosphere in Darfur region. The Acting Secretary General of International Islamic Relief Organization and the Committee's Chairman Ihsan bin Saleh Tayyib pointed out that the afflicted people are suffering greatly from hunger, poverty and disease in addition to the existence of large numbers of distressed people in South and North of Kordofan, Blue Nile, Kassala and Red Sea.
