A Filipino ambulance paramedic, who works for the Interior Ministry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), died after contracting Mers coronavirus and five others, also Filipinos, were infected with the virus. The ministry said in a statement today that the five paramedics, who were found infected with the virus after a routine check-up, have been placed in quarantine and that the ministry had contacted the people who were treated by the paramedics for a precautionary check.
