A rescue package to help Ukraine stave off financial collapse could be formally approved before the end of the month, says International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde. According to dpa, an IMF team working in Kiev last month proposed a bailout valued at between 14 billion to 18 billion dollars over the course of two years. The final details are currently under negotiations between the IMF and Ukraine's interim authorities. A final agreement could be voted on by the IMF's executive board "at the end of April or in the very early days of May," Lagarde said in Washington, ahead of the crisis lender's spring meetings.
