Scientists and government representatives meeting in Japan have agreed on a new World Climate Report after days and nights of negotiation, dpa cited delegation sources as saying Sunday. The working group of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will formally present the summary for policymakers text on Monday. The second of a three-part report assessing the global climate is to be an important basis for public policies on climate change. The report by the UN-backed panel is the culmination of four years' work by hundreds of experts, the IPCC said, and takes into account an earlier assessment of the scientific aspects of climate change released in September.
