Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hussein Amir Abdullayan received the Saudi ambassador to Iran Abdulrahman Gorman Al-Shihri in Tehran today. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries based on neighborhood and Islamic fraternity, confirming the importance of boosting them in all fields for the benefit of the Islamic nation and enhancing peace and stability in the region. For his part, the Iranian official said his country attaches great importance to its relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting that Tehran is seeking to enhance relations at all levels, thanks to the immense capabilities the two countries are enjoying and had they better exploit them, the relation between the two countries would run in the interest of the region and the Islamic world. In this regard, he lauded the cooperation the Saudi embassy is showing to facilitate the affairs of Iranian pilgrims and Umrah performers, confirming that the Iranian ministry of foreign affairs is vowing support the efforts exerted by the ambassador and the embassy personnel to contribute to expanding bilateral relations.
