U.S. President Barack Obama will host Tunisian Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa at the White House April 4, the White House said Wednesday. "During the meeting, the President looks forward to discussing the commitment Tunisia's leaders have made to advancing Tunisia's democracy and how the United States can further support Tunisia's historic transition," White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement. "The leaders will discuss a broad range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest, including U.S. economic, political, and security assistance to support the Prime Minister's reform agenda and Tunisia's stability," Carney said in the statement. "Prime Minister Jomaa's visit is a demonstration of the strong bonds of friendship between the American and Tunisian people, and America's enduring commitment to Tunisia's democratic transition," Carney said.
