The joint military exercise "Zayed-1" between the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates and Egypt concluded. It was the first of its kind between the two countries in terms of the size of the units involved and its force and diversity. The conclusion of the drill was witnessed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces; Field Marshal Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Deputy Prime Minister and General Commander of the Armed Forces; Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia. The exercise emphasizes the historical and strategic relations between the two countries and strengthens the bilateral military ties, in addition to raising the readiness of the two armies and the development of their capabilities. It also seeks to enrich the military expertise to achieve the desired integration of the various forces involved in the exercise.
