Majlis Ashura, the Consultative Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, demanded at an ordinary session presided over by its Deputy Speaker Dr. Mohammed bin Amin Al-Jeffery here today, the Real Estate Development Fund to find prompt solutions to loan-granted citizens who are without land lots to build their homes on. Dr. Fahad bin Mutad Al-Hamad, the Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council, said following the meeting that the fund was asked to re-activate the investment loaning program by disbursing the whole residential loan to those planning to purchase residential apartments with an area of no less than 175 meters each. The members also called on the Fund to coordinate with the Ministry of Housing to forge a mechanism to expedite loaning the eligible borrowers from the funds allotted to establish 500,000 residential units. Then, a report on the Food and Drugs authority was discussed. The Council called for creating the infrastructure necessary for the authority to operate well, including the workforce, technical preparedness, financial situation and specialized job fillers. In remarks on the work of the Seism Monitoring authority in the Kingdom, the members called for making geological survey to Makkah-based holy Haram area. The authority was also advised to seek coordination between itself and each of King Abdulaziz city for Science and Technology and Saudi universities to evade contradicting survey information.
