A Jordanian judge was shot dead by Israeli troops on Monday at the border crossing to the West Bank. The Israeli military said the man tried to seize a soldier's weapon at the Allenby Bridge Crossing from Jordan, prompting troops to open fire. The man was identified as 39-year-old Raed Al Zayter, a magistrate at court in Amman. He is believed to come from Nablus in the northern West Bank. Jordan summoned the Israeli ambassador to Amman following the incident and called for a full investigation.
