Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Mubarak opened the second workshop on information security in the banking sector organized by the agency and banks operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Banking Institute here today. In his opening speech, Dr. Al-Mubarak said that the Saudi banking sector has a sophisticated infrastructure for electronic banking transactions, at a time, the banks operating in the Kingdom have expanded positively in the use of technology and provision of their banking services and products electronically and via the Internet. He added that in recognition of the agency and the banks of the associated risks and threats due to the development of electronic fraud and piracy methods and techniques, the efforts to strengthen the security aspects of banking systems and effective investment in information security are going on.
