Twin blasts at a market in Nigeria's north-eastern Borno state have killed at least 70 people and injured scores, rescue workers told dpa on Sunday. The blasts in densely populated areas of the state capital Maiduguri late Saturday may have killed as many as 100 people, the rescuers said, adding that many bodies had yet to be recovered from the rubble. After the initial blast, many people streamed to the scene to help the victims. The second blast is understood to have caused the majority of casualties.
