Authorities in Iraq say at least 26 people have been killed in bombings around the capital, Baghdad. According to AP, officials say the deadliest blast happened Thursday at a secondhand motorcycle market in Baghdad's sprawling eastern Sadr City district. They say the bomb appears to have been placed on a motorcycle at the market. Officials say the blast killed 17 people and wounded at least 38. Also in Sadr City, officials say a bomb attached to a minibus exploded, killing five civilians and wounding 14. Meanwhile, officials say another bomb on a minibus killed four and wounded 11 in the northern Shaab neighborhood. A police officer and two medical officials confirmed casualty figures for the attacks. They spoke on condition of anonymity as they weren't authorized to speak to journalists.
