The Ministry of Labor today explained that the bilateral agreement signed recently with the Republic of Indonesia is a framework agreement to regulate the domestic laborers recruitment process and that what is required to kick off recruiting Indonesian home laborers is to agree on the articles of a standard contract and procedures of recruitment. In remarks to clarify a recent statement by the Indonesian Ministry of Labor and Employment this week that the ban to send domestic workforce to Saudi Arabia is still in force, Hattab Al-Enizy, the Spokesman of the Ministry, stated that regarding the confirms work is underway to conclude a standard labor contract between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia the bilateral agreement signed recently with the Republic of Indonesia is a framework agreement to regulate the domestic laborers recruitment process and that what is required to kick off recruiting Indonesian home laborers is to agree on the articles of a standard contract and procedures of recruitment which are to based on the agreement whereas a joint task team of the two countries is currently working strenuously to finalize it. He noted that the framework agreement has obliged the employer to conclude an employment contract stating all rights and duties in addition to providing an appropriate residence environment for the domestic worker. Hattab also noted that the endorsement of the domestic laborers regulation by the Cabinet is an important step to put the recently-concluded agreement into force.
