Suspected militants on Wednesday attacked the house of a pro-government militia leader in north-western Pakistan, killing him and eight relatives, dpa quoted officials as saying. More than two dozen militants drove the family out of the house by hurling grenades and then opened fire, police official Najeebur Rehman said. Local militia leader Israr Khan, his two brothers, two sons and four nephews were killed, Rehman said. The attack occurred hours before negotiators from the Pakistan government and the Taliban were to meet for a second round of peace talks this month.
