Nepal's parliament elected Nepali Congress party leader Sushil Koirala as prime minister Monday, as the major parties struck an agreement following months of squabbling, according to dpa. The 75-year-old won with 405 of the 553 votes. The voting came nearly three months after the November 19 election of the Constituent Assembly, which also serves as an interim parliament until a new constitution is drafted and ratified.
