Prime Minister John Key has hinted that a general election could be held before the mid-November Group of 20 summit in Australia, UPI reported. He said he would announce the election sooner rather than later, but gave no certain date for polling, the New Zealand Herald reported. Key told his weekly post-Cabinet press conference that leaving the country to attend the meeting in Brisbane would be a "complicating factor" for an election campaign, the Herald reported. The summit will be held in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Nov. 15-16. "I don't know exactly when it [an election] will be,'' he said. "I know a few dates that might work, but I don't have an exact date.'' Although New Zealand isn't a member of the G20, Key will be going to the summit as a guest of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott.
