An Indian oil tanker being repaired at a shipyard in eastern China exploded and caught fire Tuesday, killing four people and leaving three missing, AP cited Chinese state media as saying. Seven men were working on the ship when the explosion occurred at Haizhou Shipyard in the port city of Zhoushan, the official Xinhua News Agency said. There was no report of an oil spill. State-run China Central Television said authorities recovered four bodies and were searching for the three other men. CCTV said an open flame triggered the blast but did not provide further details.
