At least three people were killed and 30 were missing after a fire broke out in a residence for the elderly in the Canadian province of Quebec overnight, police said Thursday. The fire occurred in the small community of L'Isle-Verte, Quebec, located on the Saint Lawrence River northeast of Quebec City in eastern Canada. The temperature overnight fell to negative-22 degrees Celsius, and strong winds fueled the fire. "Thirty people are missing. We regret to announce three deaths," Quebec provincial police said in a statement. Another nine people were hospitalized.
