A former Ukrainian interior minister and confidante of jailed opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko has been hospitalized after a confrontation with police during a protest, reported local media Saturday, according to dpa. Yuriy Lutsenko, of the Svoboda party, suffered head injuries after clashing with police during a protest against a recent ruling that handed down six years of prison for three ultra-nationalists for planning an attack against Kiev's airport. The protest led to violence with special police units. State prosecutors are investigating.
