Democratic and Republican senators said Tuesday that the United States should offer a home to more Syrian refugees. More than 2 million people have fled the civil war in Syria, straining neighboring Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey. U.S. aid totals $1.3 billion, but the United States has resettled roughly 100 Syrian refugees since fighting began.
