Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of domestic, regional and international issues. Albilad newspaper said the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will witness today at its headquarters in the kingdom the assumption by the new Secretary General Iyad Amin Madani of his duties having already been chosen unanimously as Secretary General of the organization succeeding Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu who spent nine years of work as secretary general of the organization. It added that the organization has adopted a new vision of Islamic solidarity based on solidarity in action and an emphasis on the principle of moderation and modernization, hoping for the OIC in the era of its new secretary general to witness a giant development leap.
