Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi highlighted the positive and important role played by the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) to maintain the stability of the international oil market and the stability of oil prices at levels appropriate for consuming and producing states and for the global economy and its growth especially the emerging and developing economies. The minister's remarks came in his opening speech of a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the OAPEC which was delivered today in Doha, Qatar. The minister expressed optimism about the future, pointing out that the stability of the oil market will continue through next year, God willing. He added that the Arab and OPEC countries will continue to play their role positively, towards the goal of market balance and stability of prices. He said, "I am optimistic that they will succeed in this as they have succeeded in the past."
