Suspected rebels armed with automatic weapons attacked two soldiers guarding a highway in Indian-controlled Kashmir on Wednesday, killing one of them and wounding the other, officials said. According to dpa, the "hit and run" attack occurred Wednesday on the outskirts of Srinagar, Indian Kashmir's main city, paramilitary spokesman Kishore Prasad said. Police and soldiers cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt to find the militants. No rebel group immediately claimed responsibility for the latest attack in Kashmir.
