The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has sent a cable of condolences to President Jacob Zuma of the Republic of South Africa on the death of South Africa's former President Nelson Mandela. In his cable, the King said, "We have been informed with great sorrow of the news of the death of South Africa's former President Nelson Mandela who played a prominent role in achieving freedom and independence for South Africa. As we share your pain at the loss of this great leader, we express our condolences to your Excellency, the Government and friendly people of the Republic of South Africa and his family. "
