Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Mashari, President of the National Center for Assessment and Evaluation has met with the Chief of the Jordanian Engineers Syndicate Abdullah Obeidat, who is also President of the Arab Engineers Union, and a delegation of the Saudi Engineers Commission, at the center's headquarters in Riyadh, it was reported today. Obeidat, said in a statement that the Engineers Accreditation, Qualifying and Classifying Commission has accredited the National Center for Assessment and Evaluation of Saudi Arabia as the union's accredited center for conducting tests and granting degrees for engineers, noting that the Saudi Engineers Commission and the Jordanian Engineers Syndicate were assigned to intensify cooperation with the center and sign agreements in this concern. Obeidat said the Saudi center is the only Arab center obtaining such qualifications and skills in its capacity as an specialized center in assessing and evaluating. He said there are 1.5 million Arab engineers covering all sectors of engineering, noting that his organization will serve as the best envoy for this center to enhance the culture of assessing and testing. He concluded that authoring engineering tests and granting the titles and degrees to engineers is in fact a protection for them, their profession, the Arab nationals and their states so that nobody, who is not an engineer, could practice the profession.
