Kuwait's Acting Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah stated Monday that the Saudi proposal to transform Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) into a union always featured high on the agenda of GCC summits. In a statement during his participation in the United Arab Emirates Embassy's celebrations of the National Day, Sheikh Sabah Khaled said discussions and consultations over the proposal have not completed yet. He disclosed that the 34th GCC Summit which Kuwait will host during the period December 10-11 will tackle several major and diverse issues of common concern. Meanwhile, Sheikh Sabah pointed out that a number of key joint GCC economic projects, including the issuing of a single currency, are expected to complete by 2015 as per schedule, KUNA reported. He also greeted Dubai on wining the host of World Expo 2020 conference, noting that Kuwait has staunchly backed Dubai's bid to host the world trade convention.
