A moderately strong earthquake shook Lima, Peru, Monday but no damage or injuries were reported. The 5.8-magnitude quake was centered roughly 32 kilometers south of the Peruvian capital at a depth of 64 kilometers, according to Peru's National Geophysics Institute. The quake struck in two jolts, the first of longer duration, and some office workers in Lima filed out of buildings into the street.
