Thousands of protesters on Monday occupied parts of the Finance Ministry in an effort to paralyze the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, dpa reported. The compound was evacuated of employees following the partial occupation of the building, according to the government's Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO), set up to handle mounting anti-government protests. A protest in western Bangkok the night before that drew more than 100,000. The Sunday rally was the largest protest seen in Bangkok since 2010.
