Egypt, Turkey expel envoys, downgrade ties

Egypt on Saturday ordered the Turkish ambassador in Cairo to leave the country and downgraded the two countries'
diplomatic ties to the level of charge d'affaires for repeated
comments from Ankara supporting deposed Islamist president Mohammed
Morsi, dpa reported.
Hours later, Turkey reciprocated by declaring the Egyptian
ambassador - who is already in Cairo - persona non grata, and
lowering links with Egypt to the level of charge d'affaires,
according to media reports.
