Two experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Thursday began surveying radiation levels off the Japanese coast near the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, amid growing fears of sea contamination, dpa reported. UN experts David Osborn and Hartmut Nies took water samples at more than 10 points within 15 kilometres of the nuclear complex. The water will be analyzed on Friday. The Japanese public and neighbouring countries are concerned about the impact of a series of radiation leaks from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, which was damaged by an earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.
