AlHijjah 26, 1434, Oct 31, 2013, SPA -- U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel met with Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks at the Pentagon Wednesday. "Secretary Hagel commended Latvia for its steadfast participation in International Security Assistance Force operations in Afghanistan and for the energy and perspective that Latvia and its Baltic counterparts have brought to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)," Pentagon spokesman George Little said in a statement. "During the meeting, Secretary Hagel and Minister Pabriks reiterated their countries' commitment to supporting security and stability in Afghanistan post-2014."
