Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia, Dhu-AlHijjah 23, 1434, Oct 28, 2013, SPA -- As many as 1,015,096 pilgrims have visited Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, home of prophet Mohammed's mosque, during the recently-concluded Hajj, official statistics said today. In a statement, Hani Jamaan Al-Husseini, Chairman of the Statistics and Reports Department at the National Establishment for Pilgrims' Guidance in Al-Madinah, Muslim's second holiest city, said out of this number 755,920 have made their ritual just before the start of Hajj while 259,176 pilgrims took the other option of visiting the city's prominent Islamic landmarks, including the prophet's mosque, and praying and greeting the prophet and his companions. He said this figure is as recent as today.
