AlHijjah 17, 1434, October 22, 2013, SPA -- Mobile phone giant Nokia unveiled its first tablet computer on Tuesday, hours before Apple was expected to unveil a line of new iPads designed to stave off increasing competition, dpa reported. Microsoft also launched the latest versions of its Surface Tablet computer, which like Nokia's Lumia tablet runs on the Windows 8.1 operating system. The Lumia 2520 comes with a 10-inch screen and features LTE technology for fast cellular connectivity. It comes in glossy red, blue and white with prices starting at 499 dollars. It was introduced at a press event in Abu Dhabi at which the\ company also announced a range of new phones, including the Lumia 1520, the company's first phablet - a cross between a phone and a tablet which features a 6-inch display. Like Microsoft's Surface RT and Surface Pro, the Lumia 2520 has been well received by reviewers, but is hampered by the lack of apps for the Windows operating system compared to iPads and tablets which run on Google's Android operating system. The future of the Nokia device is uncertain since the company is soon to be taken over by Microsoft in a 7 billion dollar deal. -- SPA 00:01 LOCAL TIME 21:01 GMT تغريد
