AlHijjah 17, 1434, Oct 22, 2013, SPA -- Air pollution in north-eastern China has reached dangerous levels and interrupted public services, a news report said Tuesday, according to DPA. Schools were shut in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, while dozens of flights were cancelled and motorways partially closed amid the second day of stifling smog, the state-run Xinhua news agency said. The province's meteorological office declared the highest danger level, and visibility fell as low as 50 metres. The pollution levels dropped slightly on Tuesday, but remained 30 times higher than the safe maximum recommended by the World Health Organization.
