AlHijjah 16, 1434, Oct 21, 2013, SPA -- The French-owned energy company EDF is to build Britain's first new nuclear power plant in 20 years, the British government said on Monday, according to DPA. EDF, which has been negotiating the deal for more than a year, is to construct the Hinkley Point C plant in Somerset, southern England. The government said it would go online in 2023, and provide a clean source of cheaper energy.
