AlHijjah 15, 1434, Oct 20, 2013, SPA -- Nearly 50 people were killed by suicide attacks Sunday in Iraq, officials said. Sunday evening, at least 37 were killed and 42 wounded in Baghdad province by a suicide bomber wearing an explosives vest up in a coffee shop in Baghdad, UPI reported. Five suicide bombers attacked government buildings in Iraq's western Anbar province Sunday, killing 5 people and injuring 20 others, police said. Two police officers and three government officials were killed in the attacks. In a separate attack in Anbar province Sunday, police said two militants rigged a car with a bomb and attacked the police headquarters in the town of Rawa. There was no report of casualties from that attack. In another incident, a suicide bomber blew up the home of a police officer in the city of Samarra. The police officer survived the attack, but six of his family members were killed.
