Argentina says president's surgery "successful"

AlHijjah 3, 1434, Oct 8, 2013, SPA -- Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to relieve pressure on the brain from an apparent head injury, a government spokesman said according to dpa.
The operation took place at a hospital in Buenos Aires, Alfredo Scoccimarro said.
It was carried out "without complications, "according to a statement issued by doctors and released by the president's office.
Vice President Amado Boudou temporarily took over the duties of the president during the operation.
