AlQa'dah 27, 1434, Oct 3, 2013, SPA -- U.S. President Barack Obama has invited congressional leaders to the White House for a meeting on the government shutdown, a White House official said Wednesday. The official said that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Democrat from Nevada), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Republican from Kentucky), House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner (Republican from Ohio), and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Democrat from California) have been invited to the meeting set for later Wednesday. The government shut down when Congress failed to pass a spending bill for the next fiscal year, which began October 1.
