AlQa'dah 21, 1434, Sep 27, 2013, SPA -- The UN Human Rights Council has approved a resolution condemning chemical weapons attacks in Syria. At a meeting in Geneva on Friday, the council also sharply criticized Syrian authorities for "gross, systematic and widespread violation of human rights." According to dpa, the council said it "strongly condemns the use of chemical weapons in the Syrian Arab Republic, which is prohibited under international law, amounts to a serious crime and has a devastating impact on civilians." The resolution was supported by 40 of the council's 47 member states.
