AlQa'dah 19, 1434, Sep 25, 2013, SPA -- Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the ministerial meeting of Friends of Yemen which was held in New York with participation of Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom William Hague; Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr. Abu Baker Al-Qurbi; Jeffrey Feltman, the Representative of the United Nations Secretary General, and Foreign Ministers of member countries scheduled to take part in the meeting. In a speech, the GCC Secretary General thanked the sponsor countries of this conference: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom and Yemen, on their continuous efforts culminated with holding the meeting. "Yemen achieved important steps on the path of the peaceful settlement based on the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism. The National Dialogue Conference kicked off with participation of the political and social parties and discussed a number of important issues," he added.
